Fabric Belts THESE VINTAGE AFGHAN TEXTILES ARE EMBELLISHED WITH TRADITIONAL TRIBAL MOTIFS HAVING LOTS OF OLD METAL DISC BUTTONS AND COINS SOME WITH METAL FRINGING, THEY ARE OFTEN EMBELLISHED WITH GLASS BEADS AND METAL DANGLE BITS. THESE ARE A GREAT HIP BELT TO USE AS IS OR ADD EXTRAS TO OR THEY MAKE GREAT FABRIC TRIM FOR TRIBAL BELLY DANCE COSTUMING. Old textile embellished with silk thread, mixed metal components, tribal costume decoration from the nomads of Afghanistan & Pakistan c. 1950's Embroidered bands of fabric like these are trim along the long sleeves, hems and waist bands of Afghan Kuchi nomad costumes. Often these textiles which are embellished with coins, buttons and metal bits, last longer than the dress or skirt they embellish, and are collected from worn out clothing to sewn onto new pieces. CONDITION OF THESE PIECES: old and worn, some tatters along the edges and stains here and there, the beads and heavy metal embellishment might need reinforcement stitching, easily restored. Note: All of these belts are a similar size the decorated portion is 31" or 79cm long and 4.5" or 11cm deep, with 10" or 25cm velvet ties at each end.
